Regarding population and area, North America is the fourth-largest of the continents. 592 million inhabitants call the 21,33 million square kilometers landmass home. Altogether, 23 countries lay in North America!
South America is with 430,7 million people the fifth-largest by population. Along with the 17,4 million square kilometers, it is also the fifth-largest continent. All in all, 12 countries can be found on the continent!
Australia-Oceania is home to 43 million people on 8 million square kilometers of landmass. Hence, it is by far the smallest and least populated of the six continents. However, 14 countries lay on the oceanic continent!
